In a bid to stimulate the general public’s cognitive performance Cambridge neuroscientists, including Professor Barbara Sahakian are now collaborating with brain training app Peak.
This free app is already widely available and offers users a series of games that are designed to help users both understand and improve their cognitive skills, such as making decisions.
The app is now taking the aim of helping the general public improve their cognitive skills one step further by offering longer training programmes specifically targeting one area of cognitive performance, such as creative thinking.
These training programmes have been developed with the assistance of (among others) Cambridge neuroscientists and are an excellent example of how neuroscience can stimulate cognitive performance in the general public.
Professor Barbara Sahakian, Professor of clinical neuropsychology in Cambridge said that the collaboration between Peak and neuroscientists will “bring the games industry to a new level and promote the benefits of cognitive enhancement”.
