My research with the CIDDRG is focused on investigating the development of Alzheimer’s disease in people with Down’s syndrome. I currently work on the Alzheimer’s Biomarkers Consortium – Down Syndrome (ABC-DS) study as well as a study investigating retinal changes in people with Down’s syndrome.
I joined the CIDDRG in November 2017 after graduating from Kingston University London with a BSc (Hons) in Sociology and an MSc in Psychology. My first research project investigated the use of vagus nerve stimulation for the treatment of behaviour problems in people with Prader-Willi syndrome. I have since been involved in the Horizon 21 consortium as well as the Neurodegeneration in Ageing Down Syndrome (NiAD) study, both with a focus on investigating Alzheimer’s Disease in people with Down’s Syndrome.
