I am a Practitioner Researcher in the Enduring Disabilities and/or Disadvantage Theme of the CLAHRC East of England. I am seconded from Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Foundation Trust and have a clinical background as a community nurse for people with learning disabilities. I am primarily involved in a project relating to specialist community teams (PI: Dr Isabel Clare), where I (i) collect clinical research data from service users, their carers and support workers; (ii) support the engagement of health and care management practitioners, and (iii) have established and now maintain research advisory group of service users with learning disabilities and additional complex needs. I also lead the service user component of two other NIHR-funded studies relating, respectively, to services for the management of epilepsy in people with learning disabilities, and the social care of people with learning disabilities whose behaviour has brought them into contact with the criminal justice system.
