Dr Clara Faria, an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry, has been named a joint winner of the Child Psychiatry Research Society (CPRS) Trainee Publication Award 2025.

The annual award recognises outstanding published research by trainees in child and adolescent psychiatry. As part of the award, Clara will be invited to present the study described in her winning paper at a future CPRS meeting.

Clara is a member of the Department’s Child and Adolescent Resilience and Mental Health (ChARM) Research Group. Her research explores eating difficulties and eating disorders among children and young people, with a particular interest in how eating difficulties develop and how effective early interventions might prevent them from progressing.

The Child Psychiatry Research Society was founded in 1972 to foster research in child and adolescent psychiatry, strengthen links between researchers and support the development of new researchers through its scientific meetings.
