Rabya Mughal is a developmental psychologist with expertise in atypical neurodevelopment relating to frontal lobe functioning.
Her PhD, completed in May 2020, assessed the role of social deprivation on sleep, cognition and psychopathology in children and adolescents with Autism, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, and children in the foster care system.
She has experience of researching how social norms and environmental trauma can alter neural pathways, as well as how frontline services and public policy can address these atypical childhood/ adolescent manifestations.
She has published her work in the Journal of Sleep Medicine, Research in Developmental Disabilities, the Journal of Brain Sciences and BMC Public Health.
Prior to working at DRIVE she held a postdoctoral position at the School of Medical and Life Sciences at University College London, assessing in-community public health measures for individuals with psychiatric needs.
