Biography

Julia Gillard is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She also works as a Principal Clinical Psychologist in the East of England Major Trauma Centre, a specialist NHS mental health service. She was previously a Topol Digital Fellow with NHS England and Associate Chief Clinical Information Officer at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust, while also working across several specialist mental health services for refugees, veterans and survivors of childhood trauma. Prior to her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Julia completed a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, University of Cambridge, and a MSc in War and Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London. Her research interests include understanding and treating trauma, depression, and anxiety, as well as broad topics across risk and resilience, cross-cultural psychology, veteran and refugee mental health, digital mental health and improving access to services.
