Research Group: CLIMB
I am Professor of Psychiatry and Informatics in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge and an honorary consultant liaison psychiatrist in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH). My background is in behavioural/cognitive neuroscience (BA 1996, PhD 2001, MD 2006), general medicine (MB BChir 2001, MRCP 2007, FRCP 2023), and general adult/liaison psychiatry (MRCPsych 2009, CCT 2015, FRCPsych 2021). My work spans liaison psychiatry, computational psychiatry, and clinical informatics.
Psychiatric disorders are common, debilitating, and sometimes associated with substantial loss of health and lifespan. Our research group applies computers to psychiatry in several ways, trying to improve our understanding and treatment of mental health problems.
